Viruthai Millets Farmer Producer Company Ltd. (VMFPCL) is having a wide range of value added products and services for the small holding farmers of South Tamil Nadu in particular for Virudhunagar district. We have developed the FPO into a small farmer’s corporation to provide agricultural services such as product development, farm advisory, resource management, capacity building and supply chain management. They have more than 50 products made up of millets, minor millets and pulses. Products are being sold across the country and exported to many countries.
They are now associated with NATIONAL Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd (NAFED) as Cluster Based Business Organisation (CBBO) under 10000 FPOs scheme of Government of India. They have just begun to promote 15 numbers of FPOs during the year 2020-21 and continuing to promote more FPOs in coming years.
