Gramonnati Trust is a not-for-profit social enterprise that aims to support rural transformation through technology and entrepreneurship. ‘Technology’ to help rural communities get access to most relevant knowledge and skills locally in their village and ‘entrepreneurship’ to help them become job-creators instead of job-seekers. They aim to select, train, mentor ex-soldiers, youth and women to become rural entrepreneurs.
Why? Because nothing democratizes wealth better than micro-entrepreneurship; and if it is done at scale, in villages, it would help first reduce and then reverse migration of youth from villages to urban areas, even as it helps transform villages to become hubs of rural development.
